The Greek Playwriting Project Part 1
In the Greek Playwriting Project we read Greek tragedy's like Oedipus and Antigone. Using these play's as our format we were supposed to write a two scene modern tragedy including the Prologue, Parados, and Chorus's in our 3-4 person groups. After we had written our play we had to storyboard it and create a tri-fold to present to the class. Then we had a gallery walk with all of the Play Proposals on the tri-folds around the room. We were able to choose which play's were our favorite and we voted. The Three Deadly L's play won, our play, The Forgotten won second place. I was paired up with Lucas and Abdul. I was the Writer, Abdul was the Big Idea Expert, and Lucas was the Storyboarder. I worked very hard on this project because I love to write so being able to write my own Greek tragedy was an amazing opportunity to work on my writing skills! Something I would have changed was letting my other group mates do more of the project, but other than that it was great! Our Greek tragedy was about a policeman whose wife had been murdered. He starts to neglect his two children, Jonathan and Sarah, by never coming home and never talking to them. Jonathan begins taking over the roles of both of his parents and it becomes extremely stressful taking care of his younger sister. Because I only got to the second scene even I don't know what would have happened next! This was an amazing part of the project! Check out the Greek Play Production Project for the rest of this amazing project!
