Telescopes Project
In this project I learned about optics and astronomy through the construction of refracting and reflecting telescopes. I learned how to calculate the focal length of my objective and eyepiece lenses. After I learned that I was able to build my telescope which helped me calculate my magnification and f/ratio. I worked in a partnership with Lance and my team leader was Mason. Throughout this project I learned a lot about space and our galaxy. Earth resides in the Milky Way Galaxy and our main star is the Sun.
I made a Keplerian Telescope. My partner and I chose a Keplerian telescope because it has an f/6 ratio. Which means it’s considered to be a fast telescope which is great for catching light. It has a magnification of 39x and has a good field of view unlike other telescopes with a smaller magnifications. It has a Chromatic aberration of 6 which isn't that great but not the worst. If our telescope doesn't work we will have to re-do it. We would have to re-measure our focal length. Also we would need to get some more pipe and repaint. We would need to measure the pipe, re-calculate the magnification, the f/ratio, and the Chromatic Aberration might need to be re-calculated as well. We basically would have to re-do everything to make sure our telescope will work or find where we went wrong and it may lead to having to re-do our telescope.

Exhibition Reflection
For Exhibition Prep I was in charge of the compass window, the Happiness Project signs, and the INTO THE WILD letters above the bus. During the exhibition my job was at the Into The Wild bus for the first half an hour. I talked to a lot of people and showed them our ITW journals and our class documentary. I think that I did a very good job presenting our project to the public. I've been involved in a countless number of exhibitions so the stress didn't really get to me as much as it has in the past. When exhibition night actually came all of our hard work was absolutely worth it. We all worked so hard on every part of it and it really showed. The school-wide exhibition was a complete success!
